The Role: Bailey Partnership is looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Building Surveyor to join our St Austell office. This is a key appointment intended for a professional who is passionate about project delivery and ready to take the lead of the Building Surveying department locally. Working closely with the Director of Building Surveying, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of projects across Cornwall. This role is perfect for a surveyor who enjoys the variety of the "field"—from historic building pathology to modern commercial contract administration—and wants the autonomy to manage their own instructions while helping to grow our regional presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Delivery: Lead on the inception, design, and management of a wide variety of construction projects across the county.
  • Professional Services: Conduct detailed building surveys, condition reports, and defect analysis for both public and private sector clients.
  • Contract Administration: Act as Employer’s Agent or Contract Administrator, managing projects from tender stage through to final account.
  • Local Leadership: Take ownership of the Building Surveying function in St Austell, ensuring high standards of technical delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Client Management: Act as a primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice on dilapidations, party wall matters, and planned maintenance.
  • Team Development: Work alongside Director to mentor junior staff and help shape the strategic direction of the local team.
