Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with purchase and sales ledgers, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining supplier/customer relationships.
- Assisting with credit control.
- Preparing bi-monthly payment runs.
- Maintaining internal control documents for the purchase ledger, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and company policies.
- Assisting with staff expense processing.
- Accounting for purchasing card expenditure.
- Ensuring manual filing systems are kept up to date.
- Assisting with archive maintenance.
- Proactive and willing to take on additional responsibilities, including deputising for colleagues during absences.
- Assisting the Accounts Manager with the preparation of month-end accounts.
- Other ad hoc accounting duties.
Skills and Expertise Required:
- Relevant experience in a previous accounting role.
- Familiarity with accounting software (such as Xero) would be an advantage but training is also provided.
- Outstanding organisational skills, able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Have a flexible, positive approach and be comfortable with a changing to-do list.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Discreet and trustworthy.
- Tenacity and good problem-solving skills.
