About the Role

Our client, a leading financial services consultancy, is seeking a Climate Risk Senior Manager to join their team in London. This is a highly quantitative role that requires expertise in both physical and transition risks within financial services. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, practical experience in risk management, and the ability to engage in business development through an established UK network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop climate risk projects, advising financial institutions on physical and transition risk assessments, scenario analysis, and regulatory expectations.
  • Develop and implement climate risk frameworks, stress testing models, and risk quantification methodologies.
  • Support clients in navigating evolving climate risk regulations and disclosure requirements (e.g., TCFD, PRA, ECB guidelines).
  • Engage in business development, leveraging an existing UK network to drive new client relationships and project opportunities.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering expertise in climate risk.

Key Requirements

  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in climate risk management or a mix of climate and credit/market risk, gained within a banking or consultancy environment.
  • Strong quantitative background with expertise in climate risk modelling, stress testing, and scenario analysis.
  • Deep understanding of physical and transition risks, climate-related regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • A well-established UK professional network, with the ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging with senior financial services professionals.
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative, financial, or environmental discipline (e.g., Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, or Mathematics).
