Build a new crypto trading desk from the ground up. I'm working with one of the largest global hedge funds in the world as they make a major push into digital assets and build out a new crypto trading business in Hong Kong. They're looking for a Senior Rust Developer to join the team at an early stage and help build the core technology powering the desk. This is not a maintenance role. You'll be building greenfield, performance-critical trading systems in Rust, helping shape the architecture and technical foundations of a new institutional crypto platform backed by the infrastructure, capital and resources of a world-leading hedge fund.

The focus is on engineers who have already worked deep within crypto — ideally at a leading exchange, market maker, proprietary trading firm or digital asset business — and understand the unique technical challenges of operating in always-on crypto markets.

What they're looking for:

  • Strong production Rust
  • Genuine crypto / digital assets experience
  • Experience building performance-critical or distributed systems
  • Strong systems, networking and concurrency fundamentals
  • Engineers who want real ownership rather than simply joining an established platform

For a senior Rust engineer in crypto, this is a rare chance to get in early on a brand-new desk inside one of the biggest names in global hedge funds and have a meaningful hand in building the technology behind it.

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If BAH Partners uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines.
