Commercial Sales Executive
Are you a confident communicator, eager to use your people skills to attract new business and build strong relationships?
Sales experience is welcomed but not essential if you have a strong background in customer-facing roles (such as call centres, hospitality, retail, or complaints handling) and are motivated to start a sales career, well provide full training and support to help you succeed.
The Role
Celebrating our 150th birthday last year, Bagnalls is the leading painting and decorating contractor in the UK.
Salary: £27,271.80 basic plus achievable uncapped commission (for a 39 hour working week)
Location: Our recently refurbished Gateshead office which comes with free onsite parking.
(The working hours for this role can be flexible to suit the successful candidate and we are happy to discuss hours starting from 30 hours per week)
As a Bagnalls Sales Executive, you will be directly responsible for contacting potential customers via phone and email to introduce the services that Bagnalls has to offer in commercial and industrial settings. You will build relationships with senior decision makers in a variety of sectors, including health care, education, and leisure, influencing them to choose Bagnalls for their painting and decorating needs. We pride ourselves on supporting our customers, and as a Sales Executive you will be at the forefront of building and nurturing those vital relationships.
Responsibilities:
Identify new target customers through research, including the use of social media
Build relationships with new and existing customers to secure repeat business
Gain a strong understanding of our customers so you can clearly demonstrate the value Bagnalls offers
Complete Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs)
Manage the customer database

Strong verbal communication skills
Confidence to build relationships with senior decision makers
Excellent, friendly telephone manner
Good standard of written English
Basic Microsoft Office skills and the ability to learn to use an in-house database
Willingness to learn about all aspects of the business quickly
Sales experience (telephone/B2B) is welcomed but not essential. We are equally keen to hear from applicants with strong customer-facing backgrounds, such as call centres (inbound/outbound), complaints handling, hospitality, or retail, who are confident, motivated, and interested in starting a sales career.
