Job Title: Procurement Risk & Resilience Specialist (Edgewing)

Location: Reading area. The role could be contracted to any BAE Systems Air site (preferably Frimley) but on commencement will immediately be assigned to our Edgewing JV in the Reading area. A financial support package may be available to enable this assignment if required, dependent on certain criteria being met. There is a Hybrid Working Policy in place at Edgewing – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.

Job Description:

The Risk & Resilience Specialist plays a key role in shaping and executing risk management and resilience practices across the Procurement (SC Functional & Governance) organisation, ensuring robust processes, insights, and frameworks that support informed and proactive decision-making.

Your role provides analytical expertise, oversees core risk management processes, and contributes to the development of frameworks that support strategic decision-making. As an internal centre of excellence, the Specialist equips teams to identify, assess, and mitigate financial, ethical, operational, and supply chain risks. The position is primarily focused on risk analytics, structured problem-solving, and building robust processes that enhance organisational resilience.

Core duties:

  • Maintain, improve, and operate risk management processes, including risk reviews, databases, and supporting documentation
  • Serve as the primary analytics capability for risk and resilience insights, converting qualitative inputs and varied datasets into actionable intelligence
  • Monitor emerging industry trends, standards, and best practices in risk and resilience to enhance internal methodologies and advise stakeholders
  • Support rapid risk identification, escalation, and mitigation activities during urgent or unexpected events
  • Contribute to the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of risk and resilience frameworks, acting as a centre of excellence for internal partners
  • Produce high-quality analysis, reports, and recommendations to inform leadership decision-making

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in risk management and analytics within a procurement environment
  • Experience in a analytical and data processing capabilities, with the ability to translate qualitative information into quantitative insights
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex information, identify solutions, and deliver clear, structured recommendations and reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Experience operating within highly regulated, security-sensitive environments, including government, cybersecurity, pharmaceuticals, and medical technologies, combined with a strong understanding of procurement, supply chain, logistics, and wider operational functions.
