The successful applicant will have a good understanding of agile and waterfall Project Management fundamentals in a software engineering or technology systems integration setting, and will be able to apply this knowledge independently. They will have strong communication skills and an ability to manage relationships with customers, colleagues and suppliers. They will be adaptable, resilient and motivated by delivering the best outcomes for our customers. Typically they will be responsible for managing a single routine delivery or supporting a Senior Project or Delivery Manager to manage a complex delivery.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Preparing, maintaining and tracking basic schedules for project activities, taking account of dependencies and resource requirements;
  • Using Agile tooling to track progress and plan activity;
  • Producing progress reports, identifying and capturing RAID items and escalating with the client and within the business as appropriate;
  • Working closely with our customers and stakeholders to provide progress updates and respond to evolving requirements;
  • Maintaining the stakeholder register, recognising that different levels of stakeholders have different levels of interest and influence on a project or programme;
  • Promoting BAE Systems Digital Intelligence in all actions, acting in a morally, legally and socially appropriate manner.

Not only will your team be directly making a huge impact upon the systems you work on, you’ll be doing it for an organisation who makes a huge impact to the security of the UK.

About you:

  • You will have experience in many of the following:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Fundamental understanding of agile and waterfall PM methodologies, toolsets, process and governance;
  • Two years Project Management experience demonstrated in a professional role within a business or project setting;
  • Experience with delivering software or infrastructure projects in an Agile or Waterfall environment;
  • An understanding of the factors that contribute to successful project delivery and stakeholder management;
  • Ability to think creatively to solve problems;
  • Experience managing small teams;
  • Competency with common tools such as MS Excel and Word, Atlassian suite, Gitlab, MS Project;
  • A desire to co‑locate with colleagues in a BAE or customer office at least three days per week.

It would be great if you also had experience in some of these, but if not we’ll help you with them:

  • APM Project Management Qualification or equivalent;
  • An agile delivery qualification such as SAFe;
  • Experience managing project finances including forecasting and reporting costs to completion;
  • Experience generating project management reports and metrics.

Security Clearance is required for this vacancy. If you are not currently Security Cleared, you will need to be eligible for this and willing to go through the process.
