This role is for an IT application support operator within the ESCC (Engineering Systems Competency Centre) Support team. This person would report directly into the ESCC Service Operations Lead and will operate across service transition and help deliver general application support services for bespoke BAE Applications. These services include, but are not limited to:
- Incident and Request Management through our ITSM toolset Service Now
- Contribute to, and maintain a support knowledge base
- Support Operational Readiness Reviews and manage service-related release activities supporting the relevant service leads
- Facilitate Air wide services including supporting the roll out of feature updates, supporting general patching processes
- Support the creation of new services as and when required
- Co-ordinating ESCC wide maintenance activities regarding service documentation (i.e. Service Definition reviews, Service Continuity Plan reviews etc.)
- Provide specialist advice on toolset usage to the userbase
- Infrastructure Monitoring and trend analysis
- Supporting license renewal, hosting and utilisation monitoring activities
- Reporting on toolset data, and service statistics
As these are configured instances of ESCC managed applications, there will be a learning curve and "on the job" training provided.
Your skills and experiences:
- IT or engineering background
- ITIL v4 qualification or equivalent experience
- Good written and oral communications skills with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels within the business
- Working experience of Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Relevant IT or engineering qualifications would be desirable

The Engineering Systems Competency Centre is based within the Air sector which is based at Warton. Warton is where the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft is designed, developed and manufactured. Also working on the next generation aircraft for delivery within the next 10 years.
We are located within the Engineering System Competency Centre, which essentially provides applications and systems for the engineering areas of the business. This is all within the umbrella of the IM&T function (that’s Information Management & Technology).
