What you’ll be doing:
- The role will support the evolution and development of the Qualification Engineering capability aspects for the Air sector Integration sub-discipline to establish a ‘digital thread’ through the System / Engineering lifecycle.
- The development, testing and deployment of Tools, Methods and Processes to enable improved creation, analysis, management, governance, interoperability and integration of System Qualification data that support improved quality, cost and schedule performance.
- Exploring new toolset capabilities and how these can be applied in the future to the Design of Air’s products and services and define how these can be integrated with other engineering discipline tools and data sets to establish a ‘digital thread’ through the System / engineering lifecycle.
- Multidisciplinary working with all the Engineering Disciplines and adjacent Functions.
- Liaising with the lines of business deployed engineers, IT Infrastructure support and business capability projects to optimise the delivery of Engineering capability.
Your skills and experiences:
- In depth knowledge of Systems Qualification Activities.
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary environment influencing adjacent Engineering disciplines and other Stakeholders.
- Experience of more than one Complex Systems, System of Systems, Air Vehicle System programme or project.
- Experience in articulating Statements of Work and Planning and Delivery of activities to meet schedules.
- Experience of different parts of Product Lifecycle (Concept Design through to CDR).
- Experience in the use of multiple Discipline toolsets.
- Experience in the application in Model based systems Engineering.

The Digital Engineering Program Capability Development Team:
- To work within the Future Certification & Qualification part of the Digital Engineering Program Capability Development Team to lead and support the development and evolution of the Engineering capabilities for future and existing programmes within the Air Sector for the Qualification Activities.
- The role will explore, develop, test and deploy Engineering Tools, Methods and Processes and training to enable improvements in Engineering performance in areas such as engineering data and models creation, analysis, management, governance, interoperability and the integration between the Engineering disciplines and adjacent functions, ultimately aimed at improving delivery and sustainment of engineering to meet our future challenges.
