Job Title: SHE Lead (Operational Delivery)

Location: Broad Oak / Portsmouth Naval Base with occasional travel to Cowes, Hillend and Great Baddow

Salary: From £53,000+ depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will be providing professional and accurate SHE advice on the requirements of SHE legislation to the business and company (SHE) procedures across Warship Support and Products, ensuring this is effectively translated to the business context and to agreed timescales
  • Ensure you conduct SHE audits, inspections in accordance with internal procedures and ISO 45001 & 14001 requirements, to agreed and communicated schedules
  • This role will require you to coordinate and investigate SHE accidents, incidents and non-conformances, producing comprehensive reports with root cause analysis in line with procedural requirements within agreed timescales
  • Coaching and mentoring of staff within the business with line management responsibilities for SHE
  • You will respond to cross line of business issues and stand in for other leads due to absence or redeployment
  • Ensure you participate in and support wider SHE activities, e.g. public events, promotional events
  • Regularly review SHE performance with the business and take an active role in seeking innovation for improving SHE delivery
  • Lead the SHE Advisor pool (2) including work allocation, pastoral care, performance and functional review input to PDR

Your skills and experiences:

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification (or working towards)
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring
  • Practical internal auditor skills
  • Hold accident/incident investigation skills
  • The role holder will have a considerable amount of experience in a SHE related role with a good working knowledge of all SHE disciplines
