Job Title: Senior Procurement Engineer β Capability Insertion
Location: Warton/Samlesbury β We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements β please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role
Salary: Β£49,400+ (DOE)
What you\βll be doing:
- You will support strategic procurement across allocated equipment and suppliers
- You will be delivering value-for-money solutions aligned to customer and programme needs; contribute to programme reviews and track budgets and purchase orders; identify cost-saving opportunities
- You\βll negotiate contracts, pricing, and resolve commercial queries
- You will monitor supplier performance and monitor associated risks, including the maintenance of key equipment and development programmes
- You will be building supplier relationships and collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g. Engineering) to ensure on-time programme delivery
- You\βll ensure compliance with procurement processes, life cycle management, and obsolescence strategies
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Considerable communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trust and influence across internal and external stakeholders
- Understanding of supplier risk maintenance and building supply chain resilience
- Experience in multi-faceted programme environments, with the ability to interpret data, propose value-driven solutions, and present clear recommendations
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Desirable:
- Experience in obsolescence, redesign, or development project procurement
- Contract negotiation skills and familiarity with procurement terms and language
- Awareness of defence or aerospace sector governance
- Working towards or holding a professional procurement or business qualification (such as MCIPS)
