Job Title Senior Manufacturing Development Engineer

Location Samlesbury (Full-time on site with some flexibility of hybrid)

Salary £47, depending on skills and experience

What you\’ll be doing

  • Planning, conducting, and supervising process development activities both internally and with partner organisations
  • Collaborative work with the materials specialists in the team in development of current and emerging AM materials into viable production solutions
  • Developing future AM materials & processes to expand their capabilities and performance
  • Underpinning technology development with critical analysis to derive the benefit analysis for adoption
  • Developing our strategy for AM technology to ensure we stay at the forefront of advanced manufacturing solutions. Outlining our needs, intent and route to production readiness for our platforms.
  • Supporting related Governance activities including creation and maintenance of process control documentation in conjunction with colleagues in materials
  • Providing effective project management to ensure efficient planning and delivery of programmes and technology solutions in time and to budget

Your skills and experiences

Essential:

  • Knowledge and Experience in polymeric Additive Manufacturing and/or experience in development of new materials & processes for advanced airframe requirements
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the theory, principles & applicability of manufacturing, materials, properties, and processes
  • Experience in engaging differing operational, functional & discipline areas to collaborate and achieve desired goals
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to apply engineering & scientific techniques to deliver innovative solutions
  • Good written & verbal communication skills in producing project proposals, requests for tests, technical reports, specifications, etc.
  • Experience in engaging with external partners and suppliers in a collaborative environment

Desirable:

  • Degree in a related engineering or science-based subject or equivalent relevant experience
  • CAD & modelling software literate
  • Experience in delivering development proposals and projects

The Detail Product Technologies Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer specialising in development of Polymeric and other nonmetallic Additive Manufacturing processes. This role will be primarily based at Samlesbury working as part of the Detail Products & Advanced Machining Technology Group within the FalconWork business.
