What You’ll Be Doing:
- Managing a team running several different projects under the project Spartan Programme of works. This could be elements of B36 Demolition through to enabling projects for the main Spartan construction works and RIBA 4 design operations.
- Adapting and developing project plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
- Exercising project initiation, scheduling, reporting and closure.
- Ensuring the project stays within budget constraints.
- Managing a range of different stakeholders’ expectations (both internal and external), including contractors and supply chain.
- Ensuring the highest standards for safety, health and environment (SHE) are maintained.
Your Skills And Experiences:
- Project Management experience within a Construction environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management experience at all levels.
- Recognised Project Management qualification (e.g. APMQ or Prince2) or equivalent experience.
- Desirable: NEBOSH qualification, or similar.
- Working with multiple contractors in a complex project environment.

The Strategic Projects (Project Spartan) Team:
This is a fast‑paced role where you will manage your own workload and can put your own stamp on the work being carried out. You’ll be working on a varied project portfolio in a growing area of the business and will be given an extensive handover. Working on Project Spartan, it is a high‑profile construction project that is a key enabler to the current boat programmes. Taking up a prominent position on the Barrow skyline, it has not only business but also local community significance. This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your career within BAE Systems due to exposure gained across multiple business areas at all levels. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarine roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
