The predicted salary is between 44000 - 66000 £ per year.
Location: Barrow-In-Furness & Filton / Hybrid (2 days a fortnight onsite at Barrow; 1 day a week onsite at Filton) depending on business needs.
Salary: Up to £55,000 (Commensurate with skills and experience).
What you’ll be doing:
- Conducting load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis of an electrical power system.
- Management and analysis of the electrical load budget.
- Developing and validating electrical models.
- Collaborating with multi-discipline teams, suppliers and stakeholders on matters related to the power system.
- Preparing technical reports, calculations, and presentations communicating results and advising recommendations.
- Developing and mentoring other team members.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience in electrical engineering.
- Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
- Knowledge of high power and medium voltage power systems and distributions.
- Experience conducting electrical load budget and load flow analysis.
- An understanding in power system analysis software tools (e.g., ETAP, Simulink/Simscape, MATLAB).
- Stakeholder management experience.

The Electrical Verification Team:
As part of the Electrical Verification Team, you will be involved in the verification and validation of the power system, conducting analysis, and performing calculations to support the maturity and design of the electrical platform. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
