Location: Portsmouth Naval Base - We offer a range of flexible working arrangements. Please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: Up to £51,000 (dependent on skills and experience) + Overtime
What you'll be doing:
- Deliver design solutions in line with the design intent, ensuring consideration of through life stakeholders (e.g. operations, commissioning, support, RN).
- Coach and assure team members on design best practice and advise on complex design matters.
- Checker of all engineering outputs (Including BOM) from within the team and value stream in line with the detail design Quality Management Process/System.
- Support the principal in the identification of relevant training required for team members to ensure that capability standards are achieved and maintained.
- Perform Key Technical Roles within the Design Organisation when required such as DOQA & Change Impact Assessor.
- Engage regularly with key Detail Design stakeholders in engineering and wider supporting functions.
- Focal Point within the team for discipline specific tasks ensuring best practice is adopted by team members.
Your skills and experiences:
- HNC/HND qualified, in a technology, engineering or science related discipline.
- HVAC or Auxiliary Systems experience is desirable.
- Ship Building experience is desirable.

The BAE Systems Design Services HVAC Team:
The BAE Systems Design Services HVAC Team consists of 15 engineers, that develop and deliver HVAC design guidance, testing, commissioning and fault finding for all current naval platforms based in Portsmouth Naval Base. As a Senior HVAC Design Engineer, you will have the skills and experience for your primary role of supporting a defined range of detail design activities in line with all relevant processes and quality requirements, supplying advice and support to operations and other functions and ensuring defined objectives are achieved whilst continually maintaining quality and service requirements. This is an exciting new opportunity, with opportunities of progression and growth within the business.
