What you'll be doing:
- Accountable for the design, quality, and safety of a defined portfolio of Defence training solutions, incorporating all materials, methods, and media.
- Act as the technical lead for teams of training and media designers, working closely with the Analysis and Design Portfolio Engineering and Project Managers.
- Support the wider training team in proposal development, bid activities, acceptance, integration, and design certification of training solutions.
- Represent BAE Systems at customer-facing reviews of training solution artefacts throughout their development lifecycle.
- Provide technical support to the Analysis & Design Portfolio System Design Authority on all matters relating to training.
Your skills and experiences:
- Working knowledge of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) and its practicable application.
- Proficient communicator in both oral and writing forms.
- Degree qualified in an appropriate discipline, or an equivalent level of competence and record of experience.
- Chartership or the ability to obtain chartered status.
- Life Cycle Management requirements and processes and experience in their successful application.
- Experience of operating within a regulated Safety and Quality Management System.

The Analysis & Design Team:
The Analysis and Design Team consists of 60+ training professionals who are responsible for the analysis, design, development, and delivery of the multiple training solutions necessary to equip military personnel with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to successfully command, operate and maintain their equipment.
As a Technical Authority you will provide the technical leadership over a small portfolio of training solutions, each with their own team of media and training designers, throughout their development lifecycle. This includes developing costed proposals, setting out the design vision for each, overseeing the development of each solution with a critical eye on safety and quality, presiding over customer facing working groups to progressively assure the training solution and ultimately supporting integration and acceptance of them.
