Overview

Reviewing combat design\’s and providing Mechanical design feedback (Structural, Thermal & Hydraulic) in the Naval/Marine domain. Taking ownership of specific Mechanical design issues and managing Integrated Combat Systems. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders while managing updates and design inputs. Production of CS Mechanical design interface information. Producing Engineering Drawings in FORAN/CADS5/Viso to BS 8888.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute mechanical design feedback across structural, thermal and hydraulic disciplines within the Naval/Marine domain.
  • Own specific Mechanical design issues and manage Integrated Combat Systems.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders; manage updates and design inputs.
  • Produce CS Mechanical design interface information.
  • Perform engineering calculations and generate associated test specifications and procedures.
  • Produce Engineering Drawings in FORAN/CADS5/Viso to BS 8888.
  • Support the Platform Physical Design and Installation Service in physically incorporating Integrated Combat System equipment onto the Royal Navy Submarine Fleet.
  • Engage with high-level stakeholders and develop a career with BAE Systems.

Qualifications

  • Hydraulic / Pneumatic Systems Engineering experience.
  • Degree or HND qualified with relevant experience.
  • Chartered or working towards Chartership.
  • Desirable: Defence Standard knowledge/experience.
