Salary: £42,850 + depending on experience
What you'll be doing:
- Drive efforts to improve & maintain portfolio data hygiene
- Drive the internal team task management and work with the Architecture repository team to place and manage demands for data and tooling development work in conjunction with colleagues
- Manage the chasing of key stakeholders across the App portfolio to ensure outstanding portfolio actions are being actively followed up
- Assist with the management of decisions, risks and escalations across all App portfolio activities
- Assist with obsolescence and risk related assurance analysis from source systems including ServiceNow, Flexera and BizzDesign
- Assist with cost opportunity analysis working with the Optimisation Leads and Shared Services to leverage opportunities in rightsizing and rationalisation
- Support the Licence renewals process; ensuring we only renew the software licences we need and helping the lead challenge areas of opportunity with the business
- Support general reporting and basic portfolio analysis as required by the Portfolio team
Your skills and experiences:
- Essential:
- Experience in IT or similar fields
- Analytical skills - able to analyse and interpret data
- Highly Organised and methodical
- Confident communicator with stakeholders at all levels
- A degree in an IT related field or equivalent experience
- Certifications in prominent IT frameworks and/or membership body's

The Application Portfolio team is a newly formed small team with wide reach situated in the Digital, Data & Infrastructure organisation within BAE Systems Air Sector. Over several decades the organisation has accumulated a vast diverse digital landscape that supports how we Design, Build, Test and Support our products. As the landscape continues to evolve and grow, there is an increasing need to understand, optimise and strategically manage the application estate to ensure it remains sustainable, secure and aligned to future requirements.
The Application Portfolio team exists to provide the visibility, accountability and coordination across the Business Functions, IT Teams and Finance to enable a clear forward-looking view of our Application estate and the required investment to sustain, modernise and transform it.
This is an opportunity to be an intrinsic part of the newly formed team, helping to define and develop ways of working, build credibility with stakeholders and starting to influence how a large complex organisation manages and optimises its application portfolio in a structured and forward-looking way.
