The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
Location: Frimley, Weymouth, Bristol, Portsmouth, Barrow-in-Furness, Devonport, Plymouth or Brough, dependant on role and your personal circumstances. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements; please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

What you'll be doing:
- Providing advice on product safety matters to project and engineering managers delivering the programmes and ensuring the safety considerations (DEF STAN 0055/0056) are correctly considered and implemented.
- Engaging with third parties, to review and gather supporting safety case evidence.
- Developing safety arguments, both physical and functional, using appropriate safety analysis methods e.g. (FHA/STPA/FMEA/FTA) producing and updating safety case and safety management documentation using appropriate regulations and standards.
- Line managing other safety practitioners.
- Applying ALARP principles.
Your skills and experiences:
- Essential: Safety engineering processes, practices and tools; clear understanding of safety engineering & assurance principles; experience and qualified engineers from other disciplines who display the correct behaviours and have an understanding of safety engineering will actively be considered for this role.
- Desirable: Good communication skills and ability to interact and manage stakeholders.

The Combat Systems Safety Team:
Working closely with several engineers and technical specialists on both In-Service and In-Build Combat Systems, you will have the opportunity to work on developing safety arguments. This will include developing an understanding of new technologies and sensor systems used to support the safety arguments. We welcome people with experience of the military, defence and maritime industries, who can use their knowledge and learning to help us ensure that we provide the best products into submarines. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
