What you'll be doing:
- Leading a team of quality professionals, tasked at driving and delivering quality control and improvement deliverables across naval ships business.
- Managing quality engagement through presence at relevant forums ensuring accurate reporting of assurance events and mitigation of all potential quality issues and recurrence.
- Leading and supporting the implementation of Zero-Defect Culture/Right First Time across the Naval Ships.
- Managing the development of people, processes, procedures.
Your skills and experiences:
- Previous team leader experience within a quality environment.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of the build process.
- Fully understand company vision, strategic aims & objectives.
- Understand responsible document management and adhere to rules.
- Understand cross functional relationships and required interactions.
- Quality management and shipbuilding experience is desirable.
Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

The Quality team:
As a Quality Control Team Leader joining our experienced T26 program you will become a team leader of an extremely dynamic quality team of circa 55 heads that cover every inspection across multiple disciplines, undertaking various inspections across multiple components and complex installs as to deliver the most technically advanced platform to our customers. These customers are growing from originally UK MOD, Royal Navy and then on to international contracts. This role requires a proactive professional who can identify discipline‑specific challenges and effectively manage and influence solutions. The position offers strong development opportunities for the successful candidate, both within their core discipline and across wider areas of the organisation.
