Salary: Up to £57,000 (depending on skills and experience).

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide dedicated technical guidance and support across the Combat Systems teams.
  • Maintaining effective partnerships with a wide variety of Internal and External stakeholders including customers, and other internal technical teams.
  • Contributing to a team based working environment, deputising for Engineering Manager when required.
  • Identifying and prioritising tasks towards an agreed overall objective.
  • Innovating when defining solutions to minimise project risk and maximise likelihood of successful implementation.

Your skills and experiences:

  • Experience of Physical and Functional integration of a Combat System.
  • Previous involvement in complex programmes with a strong understanding of Change Management & Zonal Review processes.
  • Understanding of System Engineering design Lifecycle within a Naval Environment.
  • Applicants should ideally be Degree qualified or have equivalent experience, likely to be in a technology, engineering, science or IT related discipline.
  • Applicants should be a Chartered Engineer or hold another equivalent professional registration with a relevant institution.

The BAE Systems River Class Destroyer (RDC) Combat Systems Team are responsible for the Physical Integration of the Combat Systems for the RCD project. Tailoring the Type 26 Global Combat Ship (GCS) design to meet the needs of and deliver capability to the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN). Currently the project is focused on concluding the design, finalising modelling and preparing production outputs as we step through design reviews and BAE zonal review processes.

In this role you will have the opportunity to work on a fast-paced project collaborating across industry partners on cutting edge technology to conclude design work whilst also being enabled to develop and enhance your skills and knowledge.
