What you’ll be doing:
- Tracking the progress of goods and materials from the point of order to delivery, continuously updating production areas to reflect real-time information preventing any disruptions in the production process.
- Support the project team and contract managers through SC representation/attendance at Shipbuild project meetings daily, and weekly plan, progress, and other meetings as required providing point of integration between designated project area/team and wider Supply Chain (SC).
- Analyse and troubleshoot supply issues, reporting at the earliest opportunity to be resolved by ensuring any potential delays are addressed promptly and fed into future prevention and improvement.
- Communication with contract managers and planners to confirm delivery schedules and arranging for expedited shipments when necessary.
- Support CM’s with information that assists them in progressing claim and compensation events, as required.
- Provide input to data for weekly/monthly reporting activities reflecting key SC metrics.
- Ensure Company SHE Policy, standards and legislation are maintained at all times through positive promotion of safety awareness, risk management and compliance.
- Work the D&D process by proactively ensuring adherence to the process, reviewing the opportunity to mitigate in the first instance. Working alongside team – Issue RFQ, managing response, raise & expedite delivery of po’s to meet programme requirements adhering to all CDRL requirements.

The Material Expeditor is a role crucial in managing the flow of materials to ensure timely delivery of products currently working on the Type 26 build. This position is essential in maintaining the efficiency of supply chain operations. Expeditors coordinate with various departments, including supply chain, logistics, combat systems, engineering, test & commission, manufacturing and operations to ensure that all materials are available when needed to meet build schedules without any delays.
