Job Title: Field Service Representative
Location: Rochester, Kent
The role will be based at our Rochester site for the first 18 months before transitioning to our Barrow-in-Furness site. To support this move, BAE Systems will provide fully arranged accommodation in Barrow, ensuring a smooth and comfortable transition.
Salary: Β£41,000 β Β£46,000 Depending on skills on experience + 20%25 FSR Allowance
What you\βll be doing:
- Performing on-site installation, configuration, calibration and testing of electronic systems and associated hardware
- Diagnosing and resolve system-level issues involving multiple subsystems, including hardware, firmware and network connectivity
- Working closely with engineering teams both on site and remotely providing technical feedback as required
- Interfacing daily with the customer, providing monthly reports into BAE Systems Rochester
- Providing informal \βOn The Job\β training of customer\βs staff, as a sub- set requirement of the main role
- Ensuring compliance with all safety, quality and operational standards
- Scoping for broadening product line knowledge and support will come after successful time in the role
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Systems level thinking β ability to understand how hardware, firmware and networking components interact in complex electronic systems
- Extensive proven experience in the fault diagnosis, testing and repairs of large complex electronic systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
- Good problem-solving skills with a logical, methodical approach to fault isolation.
- A minimum of a HNC in electronics-based subject/course
- A flexible approach to working practices and hours. It is essential that the successful candidate is prepared and able to travel as required
- A full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience working on large scale Maritime Defence Contracts and Platforms
- Would suit ex UK Armed Forces Engineer/Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Technical Representative to join the Field Service Department at BAE Systems Electronic Systems (Rochester), UK.
The Field Service Department provides various levels of field support to our customers throughout the world and varies from modifications and fault diagnosis / rectification from platform level through to component level as and when required.
For the role on offer, the successful candidate will be based initially at Rochester with a follow-on position to be located at BAE Systems Barrow supporting a critical Maritime Programme.
