What You’ll Be Doing:
- Ensure the Trident engineering scope has a defined technical baseline that is set, maintained, and transitioned into service in line with the DN contract.
- Manage and assure the consumption of the US design product (under the Polaris Sales Agreement) through BAE’s systems, processes, and toolsets into Build and Commissioning.
- Engage with and support MoD technical leads to align the consumed product with an assured design, applying BAES Engineering processes.
- Govern technical recommendations for design changes to the US scope of supply, securing customer approval and leveraging wider BAE SQEP expertise where needed.
- Support the MoD in ensuring the Trident engineering product is controlled and matured through BAE processes, where required, to support certificates of design.
- Manage the long-term sustainment of Trident Engineering SQEP, while developing enhanced SQEP levels and greater independence.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Degree-qualified or time-served professional, Chartered Engineer (CEng).
- Subject Matter Expert in an engineering discipline, with strong technical breadth and depth applied across projects, programmes, and contracts.
- Recognised specialist with up-to-date awareness of commercial and technical developments in their field.
- Applies solid understanding of business and customer requirements to deliver effective outcomes.
Desirable:
- Management of multidisciplinary teams and activities.
- Involvement across design certification and resolution of build issues.
- Proven experience in financial oversight and contract management.

The Trident Engineering Team:
Trident Engineering will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team, ensuring full delivery of the engineering scope associated with the installation, testing, and commissioning of the Trident weapon system. The team will work in close collaboration with the Dreadnought Alliance and project teams (TSPT and DSST) to ensure Trident capability is delivered in line with the agreed Design Management Arrangements. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
