What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the development of the detailed future System of Work that leverages the best practice capability from Siemens NX and Teamcenter to shape the future ways of working for submarines product development, related to Hull & Outfit.
- Drive transformation, challenge the status quo around capability development, focussing on maximising the value from the IT toolsets.
- Support the early deployment, adoption and support to CAD/PLM system capabilities through early concept exploration.
- Engage with the business’s Design stakeholders to elicit support from the Subject Matter Experts from Chief Engineer, Project Director, and designers for Hull & Outfit.
- Collaborating as a team, sharing best practice and improving our product and design.
Your Skills And Experiences
- Detailed and comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, concepts, systems, theories and practices.
- Previous experience within a design role with a background from a high hazard industry such as Aerospace, Marine, Oil & Gas Environment/background, Ship Buildings or submarines preferable.
- Ability to use CAD Packages, particularly SIEMENS NX.
- Willingness to learn and ability to influence others through passion, energy and enthusiasm for promoting engineering professionalism.
- Previous experience with a Structural Engineering/Structural Designer/Structural Design Environment.

The Strategic Capability Team
The purpose of this role is to support the design, successful roll out of Hull & Out elements of a digital transformation programme. A key capability design position, the role will enable the detailed development and deployment of Hull & Outfit Capabilities for a new System of Work into BAE Systems Submarines, achieved through the development of the Siemens NX & Teamcenter CAD & PLM system. The associated delivered capabilities will enable the move within Submarines to: model based design, a digitally enabled lifecycle and the realisation of Submarines’ aspiration to design, manufacture and transition into service our products at a significantly improved level of efficiency and pace.
We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
