Would you like to play a key role in supporting our design and development programmes, developing your design skills and capabilities whilst working in an agile and collaborative business environment? We currently have a vacancy for an Electrical Design Engineer. Design Engineers are responsible for the design and integration of the various structures and systems which result in a certifiable integrated air vehicle, ensuring a safe product is developed, built for reliability and ease of maintainability.
As a Design Engineer, you will be working with other Design Engineers to support the overall programme deliverables. The F-35 Lightning II program has an opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer to join the Airframe Design team responsible for delivery and support of the BAE Systems developed elements of the F-35 Aft Fuselage.
As an Electrical Design Engineer you will be part of a team producing the physical product definition to satisfy a set of multidisciplinary system functional requirements, taking account of safety, cost, manufacturing, in-service support and other considerations. Your engineering capabilities will have been developed across a range of design skills and product lifecycle stages, working predominately in a model-based engineering environment centred on modern integrated toolsets such as Catia V5 and PDM TeamCenter.
Core Duties- Defining and carrying out engineering tasks within your span of control, performing tasks to cost and on time to meet requirements and business needs.
- Ensuring the technical content of the work, including deliverables, is acceptable to your operational engineering manager and functional manager utilising the most efficient engineering methods available.
- Confirming all work is compatible with the departmental quality policy and that departmental procedures are followed.
- Agreeing your work plan with your operational engineering manager and deploying design engineering methods, processes and data for activities within your span of control.
- Ensuring effective interactions with customers, colleagues and others, to promote the best interests of the team, department and company.
- Providing efficiency and effectiveness suggestions for the development of design engineering toolsets and processes within the Design Engineering discipline.
The role holder is responsible for taking reasonable care of their own health and safety ensuring high standards for safety, health and environment (SHE) in our organisation are maintained. This includes co-operating and following all reasonable instruction, information and training reporting work-related hazards or incidents and using all equipment for the purpose intended.
