What you’ll be doing:

  • Within the Procurement function, you can expect to be involved in a wide range of activities whilst working alongside Procurement Professionals.
  • Identifying appropriate and key capabilities within the supply base and aid the development of innovative solutions.
  • Leading the supplier selection and negotiation activities required by the business.
  • Facilitating and leading effective supplier relationships and partnerships where necessary.
  • Developing short, medium and/or long-term supplier strategies and relationships.

Attending Aston University, you will study a BSc (Hons) Degree in Supply Chain Management with Procurement. The four-year scheme offers four different placements across the procurement function where you will learn and demonstrate skills required in:

Please note you must not book any annual leave within the first 3 months of your apprenticeship. Following this, leave will be considered depending on the individual training delivery schedule and must be approved by your line manager.

Export Control/Security:

Please be aware that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.

Qualification requirements:

  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 9-4 / A*-C which must include Maths & English
  • 96 UCAS Points (or equivalent) (excluding UCAS points gained at AS level)
