Job Title: Data Governance Specialist
Location: Frimley; Surrey, Preston; Lancashire, Scotstoun; Glasgow, or Bristol. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: £55,000 + depending on experience
What you’ll be doing
- Provide expert advice and guidance for data management, in support of adoption of methods, tools and adherence to policies and standards
- Facilitate the implementation of data quality standards, master data management practices and associated governance requirements
- Create, maintain and enhance the data management framework, including processes, standards, responsibilities and controls
- Develop and apply data standards, requirements and rules to measure, monitor and report on data quality
- Establish and manage the process for data governance issue resolution, ensuring timely and effective outcomes
- Promote awareness and engagement in data governance across the organisation, fostering a culture of accountability for data
- Support delivery of the enterprise data governance roadmap, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and business objectives

Essential:
- Awareness of Data Management Association Framework
- Experience in Data Management, Data Quality or equivalent roles
- Knowledge of data management processes
- Design and implementation process related to data governance oversight
Desirable:
- Qualification in Data Management
- Knowledge in user experience modelling, information design, and concept generation
- Experience building strong relationships and influencing stakeholders across multiple business areas to embed data governance standards

The Data Governance team
As a Data Governance Specialist, you will report to our Data Governance Leader within the Head Office Group IM&T function, playing a central role in developing and implementing data governance frameworks and processes across the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a global scale, gaining exposure to diverse business areas while contributing directly to the delivery of our data strategies. The role involves engaging with stakeholders to facilitate governance expectations, define requirements for data, and support the creation, maintenance and delivery of enterprise-wide data governance activities. You will also be responsible for establishing and assuring data policies, standards and practices, helping to improve the quality and management of our information assets across both functional areas and business delivery streams. The role offers significant career progression, providing opportunities to develop your expertise and take on increasing responsibilities within the business.
