What you'll be doing
- Providing engineering leadership across the team in producing and assessing Platform Shaping designs and studies in response to the Customer requirements
- Leading multidisciplinary trade studies of aircraft design features and options; from planning and stakeholder engagement through execution and reporting to enable effective technical decision making
- Gathering and challenging technical evidence in a structured manner to support effective and timely Platform Shaping decision making e.g. basis of estimates, engineering assessments, assumptions, risks, issues
- Performing Engineering Integration activities such as coordinating technical reviews, capturing technical risks & opportunities, and managing & tracking of critical features
- Leading engineering planning and management of technical integration activities and ensure their coherency across all stakeholders
- Leading engineering reviews and briefings with significant Customer facing aspects
- Developing good working relationships with other team members & external stakeholders
- Having line management of other team members
Your skills and experiences
- A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience working across a broad engineering lifecycle
- Experience of engineering processes, standards and governance
- Aerodynamics or aircraft structures experience

The GCAP Platform Shaping Team
The GCAP Platform Shaping Team is a trilateral team with members from the UK, Japan and Italy, responsible for defining and delivering the overall physical air vehicle design. The team is key to ensuring a coherent product, balancing multidisciplinary inputs and challenging requirements.
This role will provide engineering management support within the Integration Team assisting the on-time delivery of engineering milestones, reviews & decisions and overall aircraft design maturation. This role involves working collaboratively across multiple disciplines, teams and organisations to help define and deliver a next generation combat air capability for the partner nations.
