What You'll Be Doing:
- Acting as the central point of contact for all matters relating to Engineering Professional Registration, providing advice, information, and specialist knowledge, and facilitating support and promotional activities.
- Developing and implementing initiatives to encourage the uptake of professional registration for Engineers and Technicians at all stages of their career.
- Establishing and maintaining a network of professionally registered employees who are familiar with and able to give advice on the registration processes of each PEI.
- Managing the relationship between the Company and external bodies (the Engineering Council and its licensed Professional Engineering Institutions).
- Representing Air (UK) on the corporate level working groups to harmonise and standardise the policy, process and approach across all UK business units.
Essential Your skills and experiences:
- Must have held Engineering Council Registration in Incorporated or Chartered Engineer Category for several years (Chartered Physicist, Chartered Chemist or Chartered Mathematician registration may be an acceptable alternative where candidate has used this extensively in an Engineering context).
- Good understanding and experience of an Institution's process for assessing Registration applicants.
- Good understanding of the Engineering Council's structure, Byelaws and Rules of Registration.
- Experience in significant Engineering roles.
Desirable:
- Significant experience acting as an Institution volunteer Assessor and/or Interviewer for Registration applicants.
- Detailed understanding of the registration application processes of more than one Institution.
- Experience of involvement in organisation/committee activity in one or more Professional Engineering Institutions and/or the Engineering Council.

Every three weeks, you'll have the opportunity to work across different BAE Systems sites throughout the UK, building strong relationships, gaining insight into varied engineering environments, and broadening your professional perspective. Beyond BAE, you'll engage with key external stakeholders, including Professional Engineering Institutions and the Engineering Council, helping to shape and promote professional registration, standards, and best practice.
You'll be part of a cross-sector working group, collaborating with colleagues from Air, Submarines, Maritime, and other BAE sectors, giving you unrivalled visibility across the organisation and the chance to influence engineering capability at an enterprise level.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building networks, presenting to large and diverse audiences, and confidently representing engineering at all levels. You'll grow a strong internal and external profile, expanding your influence while continuously developing your own skills and expertise.
