Salary: £42,215+ depending on skills and experience.
What you’ll be doing:
- Review design proposals from external contractors and consultants for new and refurbished pressure systems installations to ensure compliance with current legislation, regulations and site standards.
- Typical list of pressure systems encountered on site:
- Wet and Superheated Steam Systems
- Industrial process gases, i.e. Argon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Propane etc
- Natural Gas
- Low and High Pressure Compressed Air systems
- Mains water, Demineralised water
- Hydraulic systems
Your skills and experiences:
- HNC/HND qualified in mechanical engineering.
- Understanding of Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR) and other British and European standards covering pressure systems.
- Registered with an engineering professional institute and working towards chartered status.
- Around 5 to 10 years design or installation experience working with pressure systems.
- Basic IT skills for working with MS Office software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to read piped services technical drawings including schematics.

The Site Specialist Engineering team:
As Senior Engineer – Pressure systems you will be joining a multi-discipline team comprising suitably qualified and experienced personnel (SQEP) in Electrical, Mechanical and Civil/Structural disciplines. The main purpose of the team is to set site engineering standards and requirements for equipment/systems/facilities in accordance with legislation and process. You will be working under the direction of a Principal Engineer on a varied workload including involvement with a number of new buildings being built as part of the Shipyard expansion. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
