<b>Job Description</b><p><b>Job Title: </b>Senior Commissioning Engineer – Electrical </p>n<p><b>Location: </b>Barrow-In-Furness (Hybrid – 2 days per fortnight). We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.<b></b></p>n<p><b>Salary: </b>Negotiable depending on skills and experience </p>n<p></p>n<p><b>What you’ll be doing:</b></p>n<ul>n<li>Writing technical documentation, including Test Procedures, to support testing, setting to work and commissioning of platform electrical systems</li>n<li>Reviewing technical drawings/documentation and liaising with the Build/Engineering teams to ensure electrical Test & Commissioning requirements are embedded into the Program Schedule </li>n<li>Utilising tool business toolsets. Including; Team Centre, SCAD, SAP, NXGen </li>n<li>Testing and setting to work of platform electrical systems, including complex control and indication</li>n</ul>n<p><b>Your skills and experiences:</b></p>n<p>Essential</p>n<ul>n<li>HNC/HND or equivalent in related discipline or STEM</li>n<li>Experience with electrical testing, functional checks and fault finding </li>n<li>Knowledge of safety controls & procedures in a high-risk environment</li>n<li>Knowledge and understanding of marine electrical systems operation and design </li>n<li>Ability to work effectively across multi-disciplined teams and communicate effectively to various levels of seniority </li>n</ul>n<p>Desirable</p>n<ul>n<li>Degree in a relevant electrical engineering discipline and professional registration with and Engineering Council</li>n<li>Previous roles within the Royal Navy or Merchant Navy in an electrical engineering capacity (i.e. Officer of the Watch) </li>n</ul>n<p><b>Benefits:</b></p>n<p>As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.</p>n<p><b>The Test & Commissioning team:</b></p>n<p>You will be reporting into the Commissioning Project Leader and be part of a growing team working on a new programme. There is also the ability to gain experience from our existing Dreadnought & Astute programmes with the potential of some International Travel to support our Engineering selection processes.
