Job title: Assistant Technical Authority – IPMS (Control & Instrumentation) Location: Glasgow, Bristol, Portsmouth – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role Salary: Up to £60,000 depending on qualifications and experience What you’ll be doing: Deputise for TA (Technical Authority) in key Integrated Project Teams and Working Groups, as required Assist IPMS TA to deliver an affordable capable ship by liaising with the stakeholder Support IPMS TA in Product Safety, Key Hazard certification and Environmental activities Liaise with the Canada Surface Combatant (CSC) IPMS Delivery Team to ensure that IPMS Governance policy & procedure activities are executed without adverse impact on the ship programme Act as intermediate, when required, with members of the CSC TA community for other disciplines to ensure IPMS Governance supports and is aligned across the project Your skills and experiences: Essential: Experience and knowledge with IPMS and Control & Instrumentation Experience of marine engineering practices Capability to work the basic Microsoft packages Desirable: Commercial contractual negotiation Knowledge of IPMS design development processes Knowledge of design development processes for Control & Instrumentation and other monitoring systems Applicants should ideally be Degree qualified or have equivalent experience, likely to be in a technology, engineering, science or IT related discipline. Applicants should be a Chartered Engineer or hold another equivalent professional registration with a relevant institution. The IPMS TA Team: As an Assistant Technical Authority for IPMS, you will be working with various suppliers on different contracts. Holding and monitoring international calls to suppliers in Europe and Canada, providing technical support to the Technical Authority (TA) for the assigned IPMS sub-systems. You will serve as a deputy for the TA in key Integrated Project Teams and Working Groups, as needed. You will be advising the TA in their role as the IPMS TA for the design, development, and integration of the allocated IPMS sub-systems on the platform. Why BAE Systems?
