What You’ll Be Doing

  • Fabrication and Installation Training – learn to fabricate and install sub‑assemblies and major assemblies using tools for marking out, thermal cutting, and welding.
  • Structural Assembly and Equipment Operation – build components such as shell plates, decks, and bulkheads, and operate overhead cranes, chain blocks, and hydraulic pumps to erect major units.
  • Technical Drawing Interpretation – develop skills in reading steelwork drawings, engineering symbols, and conventions to guide precise fabrication and outfitting tasks.
  • Health and Safety Expertise – gain extensive safety training in working at height, confined spaces, PPE usage, and dynamic risk assessment, progressing toward the Gold Passport standard.
  • Core Fabrication Skills Development – master platework assembly, abrasive wheel handling, shipbuilding terminology, and welding techniques including MMA, Oxy‑fuel, and Plasma cutting, earning a tack welding qualification.

Export Control / Security
