Location: Cowes - Isle of Wight (For the first 12 months you will work within our Skills Development Centre located in Portsmouth Naval Base)

Salary: Starting from £18,848 with annual progression through the scheme duration

What you'll be doing:

  • Overhaul and manufacture components and assemblies found within our complex radar and underwater military products
  • Produce or re‑refurbish the components found in our underwater military products
  • Interpret drawings/specifications to plan work, ensuring you have the right tools, equipment and resources to complete the task to the required specification
  • Develop a detailed understanding of manufacturing and assembly techniques, to include, but not limited to, electrical wiring, mechanical fitting, printed circuit board rework and microelectronics processing

During the first year you will be based within our Skills Development Centre located in Portsmouth Naval Base.

  • At the end of the apprenticeship, you will obtain a nationally recognised apprenticeship Completion Certificate

Export Control/Security:

These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must as a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.

Qualification requirements:

5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 9-4 / A*-C which must include Maths & English & a Science / Technical Subject.
