What You’ll Be Doing
As a Business Administrator (Commercial) Apprentice, you will be a member of the Commercial and Estimating team delivering commercial administrative services to meet operational needs. You will work within a clearly defined framework with a focus on gaining experience and understanding of the commercial role and providing administrative support to operations.
Main responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:
- Administration of bids and contracts into the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD).
- Supporting preparation of commercial elements (pricing and proposal information) for the Life Cycle Management and Request for Bid Approval process.
- Work with the Integrated Delivery Teams (IDTs), to support responses to new/existing customer requirements and execution contract amendments.
- Drafting of documents for review and approval, as well as generation of simple commercial proposals for submission to the customer.
- On-going contract management and customer liaison support activities on existing contracts and long-term partnership arrangement with the UK MoD.
- Understanding of the commercial estimating function and the cost elements required to generate price information for competitively priced proposals.
- Creation and compilation of typically low complexity cost estimates for bids and projects in line with business and estimating processes.
- Resolve non-complex customer queries.
- Provide frequent feedback to direct supervision, the bid team and/or other key stakeholders with support or under supervision as required.
- Provide data and information, as required, for internal reviews, meetings and in support of cost investigation and negotiations.
- Understand how assigned duties relate to others in the integrated project team and/or function.
- Understand the financial and basic pricing requirements of commercial contracts.
Qualifications
Qualification Requirements: 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 9-4 / A*- C which must include Maths & English.
