What you’ll be doing:
- To carry out routine work with limited supervision and have an understanding of safety consequences in a high risk environment.
- Responsible for leading Test and Commissioning activities of on board electrical systems.
- Liaise/Interface with relevant stakeholders to ensure activities are undertaken in a safe and compliant manner.
- Instruct and mentor less experienced members of the team within your knowledge and competency.
- Ability to research, review and interrogate technical design documentation and drawings and subsequently create test documentation.
- Keep full and accurate records of work activities carried out as required by policy, procedure and legislation.
- To represent the company on Contractors Sea Trials and other outworking requirements.
- Responsible for delivering assigned activities in line with company policy, procedures and legislation.
Your skills and experiences:
- Knowledge of electrical control and instrumentation of system operations, ideally hydraulic, pressurised air and gas, domestic and chilled water.
- Experience in commissioning of complex systems power plants, motors and high voltage systems.
- Write and issue Rip Out documentation to process, identifying correct isolations to safety isolate ship systems.
- HNC in Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge of test equipment and activities required for specific tests.
- Understanding of the role and how T&C contributes to the wider business and UK enterprise.
- Knowledge of safety controls and procedures in a high risk environment.
- Aware of Nuclear Site/Authorisation Conditions.
- Experience working with Distribution Systems, Fire Protection Systems and Electrical Testing.
- Knowledge of Instrumentation Systems including Electrostatic Discharge, Low Voltage Control, Data Communications, PLCs and Fibre Optics.

You will be part of the beginning of a major Dreadnought project which is also one of the biggest and most complex engineering programmes nationally. You may have the opportunity to travel on factory acceptance tests. We offer relocation support across all Submarine roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
