What you’ll be doing:
- Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to analyse and understand the future resource demand in the 18 month to 10 year window, understand any subsequent changes in demand and develop and maintain an integrated picture.
- Collation of data, maintenance and tracking of all underpinning assumptions and the evaluation of potential impact of any changes on behalf of the function, to enable adequate capacity assessments to be undertaken across facilities and programmes to accommodate resource demand.
- Undertake robust business scenario testing to provide the function with clarity around the impact of critical changes to enable mitigation, risk and opportunity management strategies to be developed.
- Liaison with SMEs to support the development and maintenance of the Functional Long Terms Skills Analysis and Workforce Plan (LTSAWP) and the associated proposed supply solutions.
- Supporting the development of appropriate plans to deliver future functional technical SQEP in line with programme demands and transformational change.
- Attending and supporting recruitment events, reviewing CVs and completing interviews and assessment centres for relevant Operations roles across site.
- Governance over coordination of resource across facilities on site to meet emergent demand.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Analytical skills with experience in working with data and reporting.
- Communication, networking, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence a range of stakeholders.
- Understanding of workforce planning and resource management principles.
Desirable:
- HNC or equivalent qualification relevant to Workforce Planning roles.
- Background in test and commissioning, site and facilities, or operational environments.
- Experience in a functional support role.

The Manufacturing Operations Workforce Planning team:
An exciting opportunity is available to join a close‑knit team supporting operational staff roles across Manufacturing and Site & Facilities. In this role, you will work with the Senior Operations Manager to develop and maintain long‑term plans that meet future resource needs and technical SQEP requirements. You will contribute to the recruitment, development, and integration of resources across the submarines programmes. You will also manage the IBP (Integrated Business Plan)/BRP (Business Resource Plan) from a resourcing perspective, ensuring workforce capability aligns with programme and business plans. The role involves working in a fast‑paced environment and engaging with a broad range of stakeholders across multiple programmes. This position offers the chance to apply and further develop workforce planning skills, with a focus on long‑term forecasting and demand management across all programmes. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
