What you’ll be doing:

  • Maintaining and updating design documentation for in-service Small Arms Ammunition

  • Prepare technical documentation including certificates of design, technical reports and procurement specifications

  • Investigation of incidents involving in-service Munitions at any stage of their manufacture, storage, transportation or usage lifecycles.

  • Support proofing activities

  • Support modelling of product and product features

  • Provide technical expertise to product safety and environmental management systems

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Apprenticeship in Mechanical/ Manufacturing or related subject, or equivalent experience

  • Fully conversant with MS Office Suite 2010 (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Desirable:

  • Understanding of Small Arms Ammunition design and manufacturing processes

  • Degree in Mechanical/ Manufacturing or related subject

  • Understanding of change and configuration management processes

  • Knowledge of Bills Of Material

  • Proficient user of modelling software

The BAE Systems SAA Through-Life Support Team

Join a dynamic engineering team which responds to product design and manufacturing challenges where no two days are the same. As a Through-Life Support Engineer in Small Arms Ammunition, you’ll report to a Senior Engineer and will primarily be involved within the in-service phase of the product lifecycle where you provide critical post design services to ensure safe, and compliant products for the customer.
