About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a new opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join our Advanced Manufacturing team based at Edinburgh Parks SA. The role will be responsible for the precise assembly of complex mechanical components for defence and aerospace applications. This hands-on role supports advanced manufacturing operations by ensuring all mechanical fittings are installed and operating to specification. The Mechanical Fitters work collaboratively with the Advanced Machining team located at Edinburgh Parks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assemble high precision mechanical components and sub assemblies
- Read and interpret technical documents, work instructions and SOPs to produce components to exact specification
- Working hands-on at a bench (sitting or standing), use hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments to assemble components and perform quality control checks
- Collaborate with stakeholders through participation in Production System daily activities to support safety, quality, cost, delivery and team culture
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to improve workflow and enhance operational performance
About YOU
- Minimum Cert III in Mechanical Trades (Essential)
- Experience in mechanical assembly, ideally in aerospace or high precision environments
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
- Strong hands-on experience with bearings, bushes & gears
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and measurement instruments
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Strong sense of ownership and commitment to maintaining high quality standards in all work undertaken
