What you’ll be doing:
- Act as the technical lead providing support expertise across the Master Data Management product range to all consumers utilising it.
- Provides technical leadership and support, industry best practice and deliver value on the Master Data Management products.
- Manage and administer the Semarchy application.
- Manage and challenge where appropriate internal and external suppliers to achieve agreed service levels and quality standards.
- Demonstrate advanced problem-solving capability, working with developers to perform problem management, incident management in relation to MDM related issues.
- Monitor and maintain Master Data Management service activities, including general administration, performing application maintenance and product faults.
- Lead on upgrades for Master Data Management products in line with BAE Systems requirements.
- Support the architects & development teams with future Master Data Management deliverables ensuring seamless product transition into service.
- Document critical skills relating to the use of Master Data Management for other department staff and enhance the full spectrum of internal developers’ skill range.
- Represent and own actions from internal department projects and procedures in relation to the promotion and improvement of Master Data Management processes.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Data Engineering experience & knowledge in relation to problem solving data related issues.
- Experience in using TomCat, MS SQL databases, Oracle SQL, SSIS & Data Virtualisation applications.
- Experience in Master Data Management, providing Master Data Management support.
- Good communication skills – able to quickly understand and feedback best practice into proposed solutions and wider content.
Desirable:
- Understanding of the MDM product range, specifically the Semarchy application.
- Understanding of the Data Virtualisation product range, specifically the TIBCO Data Virtualisation (TDV) application.
- Experience in working within an ITIL based service environment.

The Data & Analytics (D&A) team:
The team are focused on the delivery, support and maintenance of the Master Data Management (Semarchy application) service across BAE Systems. As a Master Data Management Support Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering value to the customer base, providing technical support and adhering to industry best practise on all Master Data Management products used across the service.
