About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an excellent opportunity for a Repairable Items Planner (Maintenance Coordinator) within the Technical & Engineering Services (TES) team based in Adelaide. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Repairable Items Planner is responsible for planning and tracking all TES managed Repairable Items (RI) maintenance activities undertaken through BAE’s South Australian Service Centre (SASC) to ensure the use of correct and approved work instructions, drawings, and procedures in undertaking Intermediate and Deep Level Maintenance of RIs for a variety of customers utilising the Maximo Maintenance Planning application.
Primary repairable items planning focus area will be for electrical/electronics based products (PCBAs, Modules, LRUs, Racks etc), but there will also be some need to provide repairable items planning support for mixed mechanical/electrical/electronic and purely mechanical products.
More specifically, you will:
- Work with Project Managers (PMs) and/or the end Customer as directed to ensure that the correct revision of RIs coming in for repair is represented on both the Sales Order and the BAESA and Customer prescribed systems e.g. Maximo / Oracle / SAP.
- Support TES PMs in undertaking Survey & Quote (S&Q) activities.
- Work with SASC Leads to report on repair items going through the company’s Deeper Level Maintenance technician resource pool.
- Create Work Orders and all support data including part numbers, detailed Item Masters, Bills of Materials & Routes, and sourcing, configuring and maintaining associated Drawings, Test Procedures and general technical information.
- Provide make/buy recommendations and carry out related research for new parts.
- Assist Procurement and Engineering in alternate component selection and sourcing for obsolete parts including generation of and facilitation of approval of Requests For Deviation (RFDs).
- Work with the SASC to monitor and manage sufficient levels of inventory to meet required usage rates.
- Review drawings and parts list from engineering design, usually prompted by released drawing/s, to enable collation and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BoM) and data packs, including uploading to the Maximo asset management system and SAP ERP.
- Provide and facilitate via the TES Engineering team general support to the Service Centre such as helping resolve build issues.
- Liaise with SASC goods inwards queries to ensure components meet the drawing requirements (specifically with first off parts) and correcting part number records accordingly.
- Manage the warranty repair activities.
- Provide administrative support for the Maximo asset management tool.
- Conduct all activities in accordance with ISO9001 and BAE Systems Australia procedures.
- Work with the PMs and the SASC to develop and streamline a common RI process for all products and lead its implementation.
About YOU
- Well-developed knowledge of maintenance regulations and procedures and of supply and obsolescence processes.
- Trade certificate level qualifications in maintenance engineering in radio, instruments or an electrical/electronics discipline, with an associate diploma or other post trade training being highly regarded.
- Maintenance planning experience of repairable items.
- Experience working in Maximo.
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
