What you’ll be doing:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for the customer on all aspects of platform management and integrated control systems at an operational level.
  • Collaborating with internal engineering teams and external partners to integrate platform management software and digital diagnostic/monitoring systems into centralised control environments.
  • Working closely with human factors and usability specialists to develop user interfaces and console solutions for central control areas and electronic damage management systems.
  • Leading stakeholder engagement in the development of warning alert management solutions across the entire platform, including chairing workshops and reviewing technical documentation.
  • Coordinating with multiple organisations to define long-term support, maintenance and lifecycle management arrangements for platform management and other complex systems.
  • Supporting the delivery and testing of platform management systems and simulators, including participation in trials to validate usability, interoperability and operational documentation.

Your skills and experiences:

  • Experience operating complex engineering systems in high-integrity environments, ideally with watchkeeping, operational duty, or equivalent supervisory responsibility.
  • Knowledge of whole-life support, maintenance or sustainment activities for complex engineered platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present confidently to large audiences and produce clear, high-quality technical documentation.

The Operations and Through Life Support team:

You will be joining our team working on the cutting-edge Dreadnought-class Submarine, where safety and operational excellence are paramount. This role involves interacting with a wide range of complex systems to ensure the Submarine's safety and performance. You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including the Ministry of Defence, in-service Submariners, and key industry partners such as Babcock, Integrated Logistics Support, and trainers. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in developing Through-Life Support Solutions, working closely with our customers within the Alliance to ensure long-term sustainability and effectiveness. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
