Job Title:Electrical Engineering Manager (Internal Communications)Location:Barrow-In-Furness – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular roleSalary:Negotiable, depending on experienceWhat you’ll be doing:Delivering the functional design of Internal Comms and Platform Data Systems (ICPDS), ensuring that customer requirements, and user requirements are elicited and agreed, and that systems and equipment are compliant with these requirementsEnsuring that the Communications and Networks scope integrates functionally with all the other systems and scenarios that call upon itAssessing programme and technical risks to the delivery of the agreed Communications and Networks scope and propose mitigation activities and fall-back opportunities to the clientSupporting the 3D modelling activities and the programme review events to mature the 3D design and allowing release of data to productionPreparing the Comms systems hardware and software configuration for integration in a specialist integration facilitySupporting the integration team in the management of the acquisition of and installation of the facility equipment into the facilityFinalising the Comms verification and validation strategy and ensuring this is understood and bought-into by relevant partiesYour skills and experiences:Essential:Demonstrable experience of working with third party companies to develop productsProven management experience within a complex systems environment, such as: avionics, communications, military platforms, oil & gas, automotive, nuclear, power etc.Degree (Honours) or equivalent qualification or experience within relevant engineering disciplineDemonstrable experience of leading teamsDesirable:Chartered Engineer or working towards thisBenefits:As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.The Internal Comms & Platform Data Systems (ICPDS) Team:As an Engineering Manager (Data Network & Communications), you will be in charge of a team of engineers responsible for the design, qualification, development and validation of internal communication equipment. This will involve liaising with key internal stakeholders, as well as large suppliers, subcontractors and the MOD. This role will provide you with the chance to work with the delivery of complex systems involving the latest innovative technologies, within a well-established team.
