This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative digital team supporting the integration of business-critical systems across the Air Sector. As an Interface Engineer, you'll design, develop and maintain data integration solutions that enable the reliable flow of information between ERP, engineering and programme management platforms. Your work will help support operational planning, performance reporting and informed strategy-making across multi-layered aerospace and defence programmes.
Working with modern integration technologies, enterprise systems and a wide range of stakeholders, you'll contribute to the delivery of efficient, connected and data-driven business processes. This role offers excellent opportunities to develop technical experience, broaden your understanding of enterprise architecture and play a key part in supporting innovation, operational excellence and future capability across BAE Systems.
Core duties:
- Designing and maintaining data integration pipelines to ensure reliable information flow between enterprise systems
- Developing interfaces and data mappings that translate business requirements into effective technical solutions
- Monitoring integration performance, investigating data issues and implementing fixes to maintain service reliability
- Collaborating with architects, analysts and system owners to support business-critical data and reporting needs
- Producing technical documentation and supporting system deployments while adhering to governance, security and compliance requirements
Essential Skills:
- Demonstrable experience developing and supporting data integrations, with practical SSIS development experience
- Considerable SQL and T-SQL skills, including query development, stored procedures and performance optimisation
- Experience integrating enterprise systems such as ERP, MES or other large-scale business platforms
- Ability to produce and maintain technical documentation, including interface specifications and data mapping artefacts
- Experience troubleshooting integration issues and working within structured change and release management processes
