As a Senior Support Engineer, you will be supporting the Typhoon Development flying programme at Warton by planning for maintenance requirements and providing serviceable assets in a timely manner. Reporting to the Team Leader FDSG and ultimately to the Engineering Manager Typhoon Development Fleet, this is an onsite opportunity to work co-located with and in direct support to the Warton Typhoon Development Fleet and the wider European Test fleet.
Core duties:
- Providing support to the Instrumented Production Aircraft and Loan aircraft fleet across 4 Flight Test centres in the European Test Fleet, liaising with Eurofighter Partner Companies representatives at all levels of seniority.
- Being the primary contact for managing the requirements for Ejection Seats & Safety Equipment for all IPA Aircraft across the wider European Test Fleet and the Loan Aircraft at Warton.
- Ensuring appropriate tasking of off-aircraft maintenance as part of the ‘Part M’ Organisation and ensure compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.
- Preparing paperwork using relevant systems for shipping various equipment items to Partner Nations, Vendors and Customer locations ensuring consistent compliance with appropriate governance.
Essential Skills:
- HNC/HND/Degree in Stem Subject.
- Knowledge of military aircraft systems and sub-systems.
- Aircraft Maintenance and operations knowledge.
- Good IT skills are required across a number of systems such as TrilogiView, ESS, DMS/IMS, EMS, LN DOORS – Training and coaching will be given where required.
The Asset Management Team: An exciting opportunity exists within the Asset Management Team as part of the Flight Development Support Group (FDSG) within Capability Test. You will be part of a small team of support professionals to ensure Typhoon Development continues to receive necessary spares and support for all rig and aircraft requirements at Warton, across the wider European Test Fleet, and providing support to deployed operations. This technically challenging role provides a great deal of variety and opportunities through the full aircraft development lifecycle and into support, with a variety of stakeholders across the business.
