Job Description:

You will play a key role in planning, managing, and delivering comprehensive test campaigns for both in‐house and third‐party equipment. Operating within a specialised, purpose‐built test environment, the role provides unique exposure to advanced environmental, EMC, lightning, and nuclear‐hardening test capabilities to meet the qualification requirements used throughout military and civil sectors.

Core duties:

  • Responsibility and management for product qualification work packages, including cost risks and opportunities
  • Compiling technical test procedures in line with standards and customer requirements
  • Monitoring and reporting product performance whilst undertaking environmental, EMC, lightning and nuclear hardening tests to military and civil standards
  • Writing technical test reports, providing technical support to customers, and generating estimates to support new business
  • Design and manufacture of EMC Test Harnesses
  • Providing support to the engineering project management team while overseeing junior personnel

Essential Skills:

  • A wide range of experience in the application of EMC standards and environmental – particularly MIL-STD, RTCA DO-160, DEF-STAN
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with a wide range test environments including; electromagnetic compatibility and lightning, vibration, shock, temperature, altitude, humidity, acceleration and explosive atmosphere
  • EMC design knowledge
  • Experience in the generation of technical test procedures and reports
  • Previous responsibility for qualification work packages

The Qualification Team:

Working within the Environmental design-proving phase in the Environmental test lab. This is part of the Faraday Test Centre, which also includes a comprehensive EMC test lab. You will have the opportunity to be part of a fully equipped 'one-stop' qualification department with a large and varied customer base. This role will offer excellent opportunities for career progression. You will also have the chance to work with a diverse and extensive range of products, including those created for military as well as commercial purposes.
