Job Description: Working as part of the UK and International division within the Digital, Data and Infrastructure Delivery Unit, you’ll take ownership of programme management and overall service support for our high-profile contracts in Qatar and Oman. This is a varied role with a high degree of autonomy, which requires sound judgement and a structured approach to decision-making. You’ll draw on a broad range of general management skills, from planning and securing resources to supporting our Cyber function and responding effectively to emerging needs of the business.
Core duties:
- Responsible to the International Lines of Business Director for managing both IT functional and non-functional roadmaps, ensuring alignment with programme and campaign requirements.
- Define and oversee the overall IT approach, ensuring strategy aligns with contract business needs while considering wider IT roadmaps (EIT, Group, Sectors).
- Lead and shape Programme Management, Service, and IT technical resource demand to support the Qatar and Oman contracts and future bids.
- Manage budget expenditure, ensuring financial targets are met and escalating where spend exceeds agreed tolerances.
- Maintain a broad awareness of emerging technologies, holding delivery teams accountable for meeting current and future contract requirements.
- Ensure effective IT and Programme Management assurance activities are in place, including LCM, CSR, OAS, Risk Management, and GCSS.

The Programme Management Team operates as an internal consultancy supporting the full breadth of the Air sector’s products and services. We are at the forefront of delivering Human Factors integration across some of the most complex and technologically advanced defence programmes in the world. We are seeking experienced Senior Human Factors Practitioners to join our team in Warton, working on high-profile programmes including Eurofighter Typhoon, Tempest and the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP). In this role, you will act as an internal consultant and Subject Matter Expert, partnering with multidisciplinary teams to embed Human Factors principles across the product lifecycle. You will influence design decisions, provide specialist guidance, and ensure optimal human-system integration across cutting-edge air platforms.
Joining our team means contributing to aircraft and systems that will remain in service for over 40 years, continuously evolving to maintain and enhance our customers’ air defence capabilities. This role offers exposure to complex, world-leading programmes, collaboration with senior stakeholders, and opportunities for travel across the UK and internationally.
