Role Description: Member of the Asset Management Maintenance Management Maintenance Optimisation Hub. Responsible for supporting the identification and delivery of Maintenance Optimisation recommendations and opportunities through a combination of problem solving, root cause analysis and toolset data analysis to drive improvements to Platform Availability, Reliability and Maintainability across our customer domain.
Core Duties:
- Support the identification and delivery of Maintenance Optimisation recommendations across our customer domain through a combination of problem solving, root cause analysis and data analysis to drive improvements to Platform Availability, Reliability & Maintainability.
- Support the development and implementation of our Maintenance Management Strategy particularly those elements that enable the collection and analysis of data to drive smarter maintenance predictions and decisions.
- Support the RCM Study Review process through analysis and identification of system performance issues and make recommendations to support of RCM Review and MRAB accordingly.
- Maintain effective relationships within the COM and Ship Engineering Delivery as well as engineers across the wider Enterprise (Partner / Supplier communities).
- Draft Technical Queries within maintenance scope for the Class or designated platform/systems, as required, for endorsement by the Principal Maintenance Engineer.
- Identify and report upon maintenance data within maintenance management toolsets that is outdated, poor or inconsistent.
- Ensure consistent application of Engineering governance and compliance with statutory requirements, regulations and company procedures.
Essential Skills:
- You’ll hold ONC, HNC, HND or Degree‑level education in an Engineering discipline, or have equivalent relevant working experience.
- You’ll have a working knowledge of the Engineering Lifecycle.
- You’ll be aware of and adhere to statutory regulations, including those relating to Information Systems, Safety, Health & Environment, and Security requirements.
- You’ll have an understanding of Integrated Logistic Support principles (especially RCM) and/or experience using Maintenance Management toolsets.
- You’ll be able to use the full suite of Microsoft toolsets.
- You’ll be able to apply Root Cause Analysis techniques and problem‑solving within a Supportability Engineering / ILS environment.
The Maintenance Management team: As a Senior Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the identification and delivery of Maintenance Optimisation recommendations and opportunities through a combination of problem solving, root cause analysis and toolset data analysis to drive improvements to Platform Availability, Reliability & Maintainability across our customer domain. The role will provide you with the opportunity to work with various stakeholders both internally and externally. There will be opportunities for wider development within BAE Systems.
