The predicted salary is between 60000 - 80000 £ per year.
The role could be contracted to any BAE Systems Air site (preferably Frimley) but on commencement will immediately be assigned to our Edgewing JV in the Reading area. A financial support package may be available to enable this assignment if required, dependent on certain criteria being met. There is a Hybrid Working Policy in place at Edgewing – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.

We’re looking for a Data Engineering and Architecture Manager to lead and drive the successful delivery of complex data and technology initiatives within a highly regulated environment.
This is a managerial role leading a team that will underpin data activities across the business ensuring that data is treated as an asset, is trusted, is securely shared and is visible to those that need it. You’ll be working closely with functional and value stream leads to align data architecture with programme and business objectives.
- Collaborating with Chief Architect and Enterprise Architecture Disciplines (Business and Applications) to ensure Data is properly considered.
- Having responsibility for delivery of Data Models and support the creation of Data Dictionaries and Glossaries across the business.
- Aligning the Data & Insights data architecture and engineering needs with business objectives and Digital Information strategies.
- Defining and maintaining enterprise data architecture standards, patterns, and best practices.
- Designing scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms (data lakes, data warehouses, streaming systems).
- Working across teams in Data & Insights as well as platform and engineering delivery teams to ensure data governance and data management tooling is implemented and maintained.
Proven experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Comfortable working with delivery tooling such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Confluence. Understanding of modern data systems, software development lifecycles, and technical constraints in regulated industries.
